All Night Long

A campaign for justice, accountability, and the right to party (at 2/10 volume)

The Story

On September 7th, 2025, Phidelity performed a 3.5-hour ambient set in the dome at Imagine Festival on Orcas Island. The set featured 52 carefully curated beatless ambient, sound design and electroacoustic tracks from the deepest reaches of the expanse.

For three and a half hours, the dome was a sanctuary. The music breathed. People drifted. The night dissolved into texture and tone.

With the mains already off for the night, Phidelity did what any DJ who'd just guided a room through the entire night would do: he played a sunrise song. On the stage monitors. At 2 out of 10. For reference, you can watch this video where you can't even hear the music from 10 feet away.

The song was "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie.

For this act of unspeakable auditory violence, Phidelity was banned from Imagine Festival. Well, he wasn't even properly banned — he had to hear about it third hand.

As you might Imagine, his shock was unImagineable.

The Evidence

3 hours, 30 minutes of uninterrupted ambient music.
52 tracks. Zero complaints.
1 song on stage monitors at barely audible volume.
1 ban.

Here is the set in its entirety. Listen for yourself. Find the crime.

Have You Been Affected?

Were you or a loved one present in the dome at Imagine Festival on the morning of September 7th, 2025?

Did you experience any of the following symptoms upon hearing approximately 90 seconds of Lionel Richie at a 2/10 volume on stage monitors?

  • Involuntary toe-tapping
  • Spontaneous smiling
  • An uncontrollable urge to fiesta, forever
  • Flashbacks to 1983
  • A brief but devastating sense of joy

You may be entitled to compensation.

The law offices of Eliot & Associates are currently representing a class action suit on behalf of festival attendees whose psyches were shattered by the irresponsible actions of one Kris "Phidelity" Northern.

"We've seen cases of people who can't hear a saxophone without trembling. One client reported that they involuntarily danced at a grocery store. Another claims they now see ceiling tiles as a dance floor. The devastation is real."
— Eliot, Senior Partner

If you are struggling to return to a semblance of normal life from the repercussions of this so called DJ's actions, we are here for you.

A Thought

[ breaking the fourth wall ]

You know, it's funny.

Everything was fine when I played ambient music from a bunch of pasty white Germans for three and a half hours. Tangerine Dream derivatives, Warp Records back-catalog, Scandinavian drone — no problem.

But the moment I play a song made by a Black man, I get banned?

Coincidence?

...Maybe?

But these microaggressions will not stand.

Lionel Richie deserves better. I deserve better. The dome deserves better.

The Demand

Phidelity has performed on Orcas Island for over a decade — seven recorded sets across five separate years, from intimate New Year's Eve gatherings to the festival's most ambitious ambient performance ever.

Over a decade of dedicated performances at this community, culminating in the most ambitious set yet, only to be banned.

For playing a sunrise song. On monitors. At 2/10.

  1. Phidelity be reinvited to Imagine Festival
  2. In the headlining slot he was originally promised
  3. At double the rate

Not because of the money. Because of the principle. And also a little bit because of the money.
